I also have the Dell 2135cn printer and receive the memory full 016-700 message when printing a powerpoint template. I am using Windows 7 and have followed the detials above. I am not able to change the Bitmap Text Smoothing option as this is set to unavailable. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Buffalo got back to me today and stated they have nothing compatible – but I’m not sure the guy was correct because he made a blanket statement that they don’t make 144 pin so-dimm ddr2… which doesn’t seem accurate given their website.

Nonetheless, Dell Printer Support provided a workaround to resolve my immediate problem. I must have missed Jason’s comment above regarding the “print as image” option in Adobe, because that solved it for me (in addition to the bitmap smoothing options).

So I have this problem intermittently, but the work around(s) do not help. I tried some Kingston memory for an HP printer which looked good on paper, but was not compatible. Thankfully it was only $10. It’s the KTH-LJ2015/256.

I’m emailing Buffalo about the currently available PX533-X256 to see if it is compatible.
